A University of Groningen scholarship from the Eric Bleumink Fund cannot be actively applied for. An announcement on a nomination will be made to eligible applicants. Which candidates will be nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fund scholarship will be decided by the University of Groningen Admission Office in collaboration with the faculty admission boards. The candidate for a master’s program should complete the application by December 1st in order to give the Admission Office adequate time to process the application.
Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) Fellowships
European citizens working in Europe or abroad and non-European nationals doing their PhD dissertations in Europe are eligible to apply for PhD fellowships from BIF. If your PhD thesis is about to begin or has already begun, you should apply; no preliminary findings are anticipated.

Postdoctoral researchers worldwide and MD and PhD students are eligible to apply for travel funds from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) for a maximum term of three months. If they wish to pursue short-term research stays or attend relevant practical courses in Europe or abroad, or if they conduct experimental projects in basic biomedical research, the BIF provides financing. Applications must be sent to BIF no earlier than six months but no later than two weeks before the intended departure date.
