Destination Australia Scholarship
The Australian government created the Destination Australia Scholarship to entice domestic and foreign students to seek higher education in regional Australia. In order to overcome the disparity in access to higher education in Australia’s regional and metropolitan areas, the scholarship program seeks to draw and keep students from these areas.
Application Process and Deadline
Students beginning in Semester 1 of 2024 are no longer eligible to apply. Online applications for students beginning in Semester 2 of 2024 must be submitted by June 17, 2024. You must first apply for and be accepted into a suitable degree program at The University of Queensland scholarships before you can apply online for the Destination Australia Scholarship.

Graduate School Research Training Scholarship
The goal of the University of Queensland’s (UQ) esteemed Research Training Scholarship (UQRS) program is to offer financial support to outstanding domestic and international research students pursuing advanced degrees at UQ.
Application Process and Deadline
You apply for this scholarship when you apply for a PhD or MPhil. You don’t have to submit different scholarship applications. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must submit your application by the relevant deadline for the research quarter you want to start. We encourage you to apply as soon as it becomes available.
Graduate School Research Training Scholarship
International Onshore Merit Scholarship
To encourage highly brilliant international students to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in Australia, the University of Queensland (UQ) offers the International Onshore Merit Scholarship.
Application Process and Deadline
The International Onshore Merit Scholarship is available to those who have applied and been accepted into a qualifying program at UQ for study starting in Semester 1 or 2, 2025. When you apply to study at UQ, you will be immediately considered for this scholarship if you meet the conditions.

These scholarships are awarded to high achievers who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, leadership potential, and community service.
Application Process
When you apply to study at UQ, you will be immediately considered for this scholarship if you meet the conditions. Applying for this scholarship is not required.
