The UM Holland High Potential scholarship program is offered by Maastricht University Scholarships, a renowned scholarship provider in the Netherlands. Its goal is to attract particularly talented international students to the university’s master’s degree program.

Eligibility Criteria for Maastricht University Scholarships
- You should not be a citizen of the EU or EEA.
- You have not earned a degree from a Dutch university.
- You are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Suriname, and you fulfill the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
- You don’t hold dual citizenship with any of the EU or EEA nations.
- You have applied for admission to the full-time participating master’s program at Maastricht University for the 2025–2026 academic year (a list of participating programs will be released in October 2024).
- You are qualified to be admitted to the specific master’s program at UM that you have applied to.
You have never participated in a degree-granting higher education program in the Netherlands. All participating students are eligible to apply. - You won’t be older than 35.
- Your most recent grade report or evidence of academic excellence demonstrates that you excelled in your prior coursework. In the event that several applicants are equally qualified, UM will prioritize those whose academic records or reference letters attesting to their academic achievement place them in the top 5% of applicants for the scholarship program for 2025–2026.

Application Procedure
To be eligible for the Maastricht University Scholarships, candidates must first apply for admission to the master’s program at Maastricht University. In addition to submitting other resources, such as references and a motivational letter, candidates must finish a separate scholarship application process. Candidates must take the two actions listed below:
- UM Holland-High Potential Scholarships are available only to master’s degree programs listed above.
- Before you may apply for the scholarship, you must first apply for UM’s master’s program in order to obtain your student ID. You can then and only then submit an application for the scholarship. However, you must have your master’s program entrance conditionally granted in order to be eligible for a scholarship.
- If paying a handling fee is necessary for your study program in order to finish the admissions procedure, the UM International Services Desk will not reimburse you for it. It is your duty to pay any handling fees your program may impose by February 1, 2024.
- The Maastricht University High Potential Scholarships program is accepting applications beginning in October 2024. To apply, click the link. only accepts applications that are submitted using the application form.

Application deadline for Maastricht University Scholarships
Applications for the Maastricht University High Potential Scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year will be accepted starting in October 2024. The deadline for applications is February 1, 2025, up to and including 23:59 CET.
